Born in Hawaii and raised in California, I have always been passionate about the Japanese language, thanks to my parents speaking it at home and my love for Japanese manga, anime, and comedy. After moving to Japan in 2014, I became fluent in both the language and culture, immersing myself in Japanese customs, including business etiquette.
With a strong foundation in English from my education in the United States, I embarked on my translation career with a summer internship at a Tokyo-based company during my university years. Upon graduating, I gained valuable experience translating for an NPO before exploring diverse roles in the industry.
In 2018, I joined a major securities brokerage in Tokyo as an in-house translator, working closely with their equity research team. After completing my contract, I returned to full-time freelance work, specializing in Investor Relations materials such as financial results presentations, earnings reports, and earnings call transcripts.
My expertise extends beyond translation work, as I am passionate about writing finance-related materials and have ambitions to become a published author in the field. I previously ran a newsletter covering small-cap companies in Japan, which was featured in The Street. Leveraging my extensive network within the Japanese IR industry and maintaining close connections with foreign investors, I am well-positioned to serve as a bridge between Japanese IR and foreign investors, ensuring clear and accurate communication across cultures.
